DIAMOND Partners Conclude First-Year Milestones with Festive Online Gathering

December 07, 2023

In a virtual gathering that marked the culmination of DIAMOND’s inaugural year, over 30 project participants convened on the 6th and 7th of December for an online general meeting. The session served as a platform to collectively review achievements, discuss emerging possibilities, and collaboratively address challenges encountered throughout the year.

Despite the digital format, the meeting offered a delightful “Christmas Surprise,” orchestrated by Berit Brauer from Fraunhofer ISE and Lukas Wagner from the University of Marburg. Recognizing the need for informal moments amid online sessions, Lukas and Berit ingeniously introduced an element of festive cheer. Their efforts not only lightened the atmosphere but also encouraged active participation, especially among the younger DIAMOND researchers.

One particularly engaging activity involved a challenge thrown to the DIAMOND researchers: to collaboratively construct a Perovskite Solar Module using the collective expertise from each partner. This initiative aimed to foster interaction and leverage the diverse skills within the consortium, showcasing the strength of collaboration in achieving common goals.

As DIAMOND partners embark on the next phase of their journey, the consortium anticipates reconvening for the midterm review in June. The upcoming meeting is scheduled to take place in Rome, Italy, and will be hosted by the University of Rome Tor Vergata. This face-to-face interaction promises to further enhance collaboration, allowing for in-depth discussions and strategic planning to propel the DIAMOND project forward.

The festive online gathering not only marked the successful completion of the first year but also reinforced the spirit of teamwork and innovation within the DIAMOND consortium. As the project progresses, these collaborative efforts aim to contribute significantly to the advancement of perovskite solar cell technology.
