Maria Loi, a prominent figure in photophysics and optoelectronics, made a significant contribution at the upcoming EMRS Spring Meeting – Symposium (B) on Materials for Energy Conversion Systems: Fundamentals, designs, and applications.

The symposium spotlighted cutting-edge coupled energy conversion systems, with a specific focus on electro-optical and electro-mechanical conversion techniques. As the demand for alternative multi-modal energy sources rises, the event aimed to address the essential materials and technologies crucial for their advancement.

Hailing from the University of Groningen, Maria Antonietta Loi, a distinguished researcher, lent her expertise in sustainable lead-free materials and their applications in energy conversion. 

The symposium promised an in-depth exploration of smart conversion materials, novel concepts, advancements in photovoltaics, as well as the manufacturing and characterization of functional materials. It also delved into the integration of functional materials in energy harvesters. Of particular interest were the examination of lead-free perovskites and their multifunctionality in electro-optical and ferroelectric applications.
